Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Kosciusko School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 59.4% of the 2,198 students enrolled in Kosciusko School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.4% increase over the previous school year.

Kosciusko Senior High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 602 students.

A snapshot of Kosciusko School District schools showed 59.4% of students were Black, 35.4% were white, 1.8% were Hispanic, and 0.5% multiracial.

Kosciusko School District roughly covers five schools within Attala County and has a main office in Kosciusko.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
