2020-2021: What were the backgrounds of Webster County students?

Of the 1,264 students enrolled in Webster County schools in 2020-2021, 71.7% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Webster County students.

This is a 0.1% decrease from the previous school year.

East Webster Elementary School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Webster County schools showed 71.7% students were White and 24.4% were Black or African American.

There are three schools in Webster County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
