On Monday, May 16, 2022, a delegation of officials from the State of Tennessee made a visit to Choctaw. These individuals were from various departments, such as the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Tennessee, 25th Judicial District, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the FBI. They met with Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben and spent most of the day with Tribal legal, law enforcement and judicial officials to learn and understand more about the MBCI legal and judicial system. They enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Pearl River Resort and took a tour of the Pearl River community.
As they ended their visit, the 2021-2022 Choctaw Indian Princess Shemah Ladania Crosby presented gifts of appreciation to them for their visit. It is hoped that the group left with a greater understanding of how the legal and judicial system operates on Tribal lands. Thank you for your visit!
