Lady Bulldogs defeat Lady Indians, 72-61

The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians, 72-61, here Tuesday night.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 15-9 and 7-6 in the MACCC. Holmes hosts Meridian Thursday night at 6 p.m. in the regular season finale.

The Lady Bulldogs led 25-10 after the first period and held a 43-23 lead going into halftime. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Indians, 29-28, in the second half to pull out the win.

Danielle Luckey led the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points while Ally Alford added 16. Luckey pulled in 11 rebounds on the night.

Holmes shot 45.8 percent from the floor (22-of-28), 54.5 percent from three (6-of-11) and 84.6 percent from the free throw line (22-of-26).
