Bulldogs lead early but fall to Tigers, 90-85, in OT

The Holmes Community College Bulldogs led the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers at halftime but lost a heartbreaker here in overtime, 90-85.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 11-7 and 3-5 in the MACCC. Holmes host Pearl River at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Holmes led 43-37 at halftime and then were outscored 39-33 in the second to end regulation tied at 76 before the Tigers outscored the Bulldogs, 14-9, in overtime.

Dacory Porter led the Bulldogs with 34 points including five three-pointers. Jalen Tatum followed with 24 while Michael Whitmore had 13.

The Bulldogs shot 49.1 percent from the floor (28-of-57), 41.7 percent from the three-point line (10-of-24) and 82.6 percent from the free throw line (19-of-23).
