Bulldogs begin Region XXIII Tournament play Monday in Meridian

The Holmes Community College Bulldogs will go into the Region XXIII Tournament as the No. 10 seed and will face the No. 7 seed Meridian Community College Eagles on Monday night in Meridian.

Holmes finished the regular season at 14-10 overall and 6-8 in the MACCC while Meridian finished the regular season 16-8 and 8-6 in the MACCC. The winner of the game will face LSU-E on Wednesday in Eunice, La. You can watch tomorrow’s game at mcceagles.live.

Holmes is led in scoring by Jalen Tatum, who is averaging 15.2 points per game. Dacory Porter averages 12.8 points per game, Caleb Campbell averages 12.6 points per game, Raymond Adams averages 7.8 points per game and Jourdain Dishmond  averages 6.9 points per game. Tatum brings in 6.3 rebounds per game and Adams brings in 5.1 rebounds per game. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging 70.3 points per game and are shooting 45.1 percent from the floor, 27.9 percent from three-point range and 71.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Holmes is giving up 65.1 points per game.

Meridian led in scoring by Christian Terrell, who is averaging 17.5 points per game. Randarius Hughes is averaging 11.7 points per game, Calexis Campbell is averaging 9.4 points per game, Talib Ferrette is averaging 8.7 points per game and Makeem Roberts is averaging 8.4 points per game. Hughes is the leading rebounder with 9.2 rebounds per game. As a team, Meridian is averaging 70.7 points per game and is shooting 41.7 percent from the floor, 27.8 percent from the three-point line and 69.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Meridian is giving up 66.7 points per game.
